Michael van Gerwen 6-3 Kevin Painter
Raymond van Barneveld 5-6 Steve Beaton
Phil Taylor 6-2 Mark Webster

There were no such problems for Phil Taylor, who averaged over 100 in a 6-2 success over Mark Webster.
Wayne Jones whitewashed Dave Chisnall 6-0 in the opening match of the Friday evening session, while world champion Adrian Lewis came through a bad-tempered affair with Richie Burnett 6-3.
In-form Dutchman Michael van Gerwen saw off defending champion Kevin Painter 6-3 to book his spot in the second round.
Elsewhere, Gary Anderson won the last two legs to beat Wes Newton 6-4, while Simon Whitlock broke Jamie Craven in the seventh leg on his way to a 6-3 win.
