West Indies coach Ottis Gibson has backed spinner Sunil Narine to return to his best form in the five-match one-day international series against Bangladesh, which starts in Khulna on Friday.

Narine, 24, took three wickets costing 114.33 runs each as West Indies secured a 2-0 win in the preceding Test series.

"The Bangladesh players have gone after him a bit," said Gibson. "It's not a massive concern but it is obviously something we keep an eye on. We are not really concerned at this stage.

"I think he's got a unique sort of action. His mystery is with his fingers. He has to continue to believe in that because this is what got him here."

West Indies have been forced to make a late change to their ODI squad with uncapped pace bowler Jason Holder coming into replace Tino Best, who has a hamstring injury.

"Jason has done very well with the A team, so it's a good opportunity for him to come here and get into the environment to see what it is like, and experience the work ethic required to be successful at this level," added Gibson.

Kemar Roach returns to the squad after recovering from a knee injury but Dwayne Bravo remains out with a thigh complaint.

Bangladesh will be without all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for at least the opening two matches with a leg injury, with uncapped batsman Muminul Hoque taking his place.

On Muminul's call-up, Bangladesh's chief selector Akram Khan said: "We picked him from among the form batsman. He has been consistent for the A team, scoring runs in West Indies, and also has runs in first-class cricket at home."

Fast bowler Shafiul Islam returns after recovering from a shoulder injury he picked up in March.
