Huddersfield Giants have revealed that experienced prop Keith Mason left the club on October 4.

The 30-year-old former St Helens player fell down the pecking order at the John Smith's Stadium following the signing of front row forwards Craig Kopczak, Stuart Fielden, Anthony Mullally and Akuma Ta'ai.

"Huddersfield Giants can confirm that Keith Mason left the club on the 4th of October," the club said in a statement.

"The matter is in the hands of solicitors and, therefore, the club will not be making any further comment at this time."

Mason, who was a member of Huddersfield's 2009 Challenge Cup final team, has been linked with a return to one of his former clubs Wakefield.
