Tino Best bowled West Indies to a 77-run victory over Bangladesh on the final day of the first Test in Dhaka.

The Barbados fast bowler claimed 5-24 as Bangladesh were all out for 167 in pursuit of a target of 245.

Several batsmen made starts but nobody went on to make a major contribution and Mahmudullah's 29 was the top score of the innings.

Best was the hero with his maiden Test five-wicket haul which included the wickets of Junaid Siddique (20), Shahriar Nafees (23), Shakib Al Hasan (2), Mushfiqur Rahim (16). He sealed the result by bowling Mahmudullah.

Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul, making his Test debut, picked up 3-32 and seamer Ravi Rampaul chipped in with 2-32.

West Indies tail had subsided quickly at the start of the day, going from 244-6 to 273 all out inside 10 overs.

Bangladesh left-arm spinner Sohag Gazi, also making his debut, finished with career-best figures of 6-74 to take his match tally to nine wickets.

The two-match series concludes in Khulna from November 21-25.
