Defending champions Sydney Sixers have re-signed England and Nottinghamshire batsman Michael Lumb for next season's Big Bash League.

Lumb helped the Sixers claim the inaugural BBL tournament last season and finished as top run-scorer.

Sydney also claimed the Champions League title and Lumb secured the man-of-the-match performance in the final.

The 32-year-old won the World Twenty20 with England in 2010 and returned to the squad for this year's event, although he did not feature.

"Lumby was a solid addition to our squad for BBL1 and his form was outstanding in the Champions League, joining with Brad Haddin to win the final at Wanderers," said Sixers general manager Stuart Clark

"He really enjoyed being in Sydney, the lifestyle and being near the beach for a surf last summer, so we can't wait to see him back here again."
