Gregor Young: The player is due to join the squad this week
Jed-Forest back Gregor Young is set to join twin brother Lewis in the Scotland Sevens squad on a two-year contract.
It means Gregor will be in contention for a place on the team's upcoming outings to Dubai (30 November and 1 December) and South Africa (8 and 9 December) in the HSBC Sevens World Series.
He is due to join the squad this week, with his first year based on an elite development basis, before his second year which will be a full professional contract.
The 21-year-old said: "I'm over the moon to have signed for Scotland Sevens; it's exciting that Lewis and I have the opportunity now to play together for our country. We work well together.
"This is the first stepping stone to a career in rugby and I hope to develop as much as I possibly can. I know it's going to be hard work, but I'm prepared to put in the work and hopefully I'll feature in a couple of tournaments."
Thursday's announcement provides added strength to Phil Greening's squad, which has already been boosted this week by the announcement of 12 new club players.
"I'm over the moon to have signed for Scotland 7s; it's exciting that Lewis and I have the opportunity now to play together for our country. "
