England's Sam Tomkins is happy with the quality of opposition in the Autumn Series

Full-back Sam Tomkins insists England's one-sided matches in the tri-nations have been due to the quality of Steve McNamara's side and not the poor level of opposition.

The 2012 Super League season proved so near yet so far for the Warriors as they lost in the Challenge Cup and play-off semi-finals after securing the League Leaders' Shield. Wigan have strengthened during the close season with the addition of Blake Green from Hull KR and Tomkins is determined to win silverware after missing out this time around. "We've fallen short this year in two semi-finals. In the two previous years we've won the Grand Final and the Challenge Cup so we know we can win silverware. Next year our goal will be to win everything," he continued. "We've recruited Blake Green to play in the halves. I think he's going to be a great acquisition for us. He's going to be in a successful team hopefully so he'll be a real strike player for us." Tomkins is part of the England squad who have supported Movember, a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health - specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer, something he is proud to be a part of. "When asked I stuck my hand up. I've got facial hair like a 12-year-old boy so it doesn't help. I'll do my best." Will he be keeping his new look permanently? "Definitely not." Gillette and England Rugby League are proud to support Movember. Gillette's 'Best a Mo Can get Barbers' on Newburgh Street in London is free for all Mo Bros throughout the month.
