Neill Collins: Close to signing a new deal at Sheffield United

Sky Sports understands Sheffield United defender Neill Collins is poised to sign a new deal at the club.

Collins has established himself as a key member of Danny Wilson's side since arriving from Leeds in January 2011.

United are keen to tie down the central defender to a new long-term deal to ward off potential suitors.

The Blades lost a number of key players last summer after seeing their contracts run down and they are keen to avoid the same happening with Collins.

Talks have been going on for the last few weeks and the club are hopeful of agreeing a deal with the former Sunderland and Wolves defender.
