Norwich manager Chris Hughton is looking for his side to continue on an upward curve when they host Tottenham tonight.

The Canaries have beaten Arsenal 1-0 at home and drawn 1-1 away at Aston Villa in their last two games and Hughton now wants another positive result in the Capital One Cup fourth round tie.

"There aren't many teams that will win this competition so if you have an opportunity to progress it's a big plus for the club," he said.

"It's a massive game and we want to make progress in the Capital One Cup. We've had some lows this season, but the morale has always been good.

"We accept what we are as a club and accept that nothing will come to us easily. We have to fight for what we get.

"But we are in good form at the moment with a win and draw from our last two games lifting everybody.

"Tottenham are a wonderful club that play a fabulous brand of football. They're in great form and have been finding greater consistency.

"Their season is going well now. They have a lot of quality in the team. But the fact we gave a good account of ourselves at White Hart Lane gives us confidence that we will do ok.

"We're at home and we must make sure we'll give our crowd plenty to cheer about."

Norwich sit three points clear of relegation in the Premier League but Hughton believes they are in a false position.

"We know where we went wrong in the poor performances we've had, we leaked goals and that doesn't do us any favours," he said.

"Most managers will say they should have more points but I genuinely feel that our performances have warranted better outcomes and that gives us confidence.

"If you can beat Arsenal at Carrow Road that gives you confidence. Against Villa on Saturday it should have been a winning performance."
