Sydney Sixers captain Brad Haddin believes his side have a great chance of lifting the Champions League Twenty20 title on Sunday, provided they stick to their plans.

The Sydney wicketkeeper-batsman admits his side were fortunate to come through Friday's nail-biting semi-final against the Titans, where they chased down 164 off the final ball of the match to set-up a final with Highveld Lions.

Speaking after lower-order pair Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc scrambled a bye at the death, Haddin said: "We made things very hard for ourselves. But in the end we won. We have a final to go to on Sunday and that is totally different pressure.

"We got away with one, we can't hide behind that. But life goes on and we won the cricket game and now we are going to the final on Sunday.

"All that we have to do is execute our plans. Whatever our plans are we have to make sure we execute them and that's all we have got to do.

"I think the two best teams are in the finals, so that's a good endorsement for the tournament. Our guys are very excited up in the change room; so let's go to the finals now."

Alviro Petersen will lead South African outfit Lions into battle after his side enjoyed a more comfortable 22-run semi-final victory over Delhi Daredevils.

Sydney are the only side to have beaten the Lions in the tournament to-date, and Petersen is determined to avenge that earlier five-wicket defeat.

"The only game we lost in this tournament has been to the Sixers so we would like to put one over them," he said.

"What I can assure you is the team will be up for it once more, the boys are hungry. We are playing good cricket. We know that the road that we are on doesn't end here. We are focused on preparing for what lies ahead, and that will be our real focus."
