Steven Finn is confident the England squad can avoid any repeat of last summer's dysfunction during the tour of India.

Experienced batsman Kevin Pietersen has been added to the touring squad after apologising for the text-message saga that saw him dropped for the final Test against South Africa in August and the World Twenty20.

England leave for some pre-tour training in Dubai on Wednesday and Finn is glad everything has been cleared up ahead of the four-Test series.

"It's excellent to have Kevin back, I'm glad that everything's been sorted out," Finn told Sky Sports News.

"It's great to have someone of his calibre in our team going into this tour to India.

"He's going to be a great help for us over there. He's experienced a lot in Indian conditions and, as he always does, he will transfer his knowledge to everyone else in the group."

Finn added: "We've drawn a line under it, we're far more mature than to let it affect us.

"This tour of India is going to be a great challenge, we know that, it's something we are excited about... we're all focused, determined and moving towards the same goal of beating India."
