Bradford boss Phil Parkinson was delighted with his side chalking up their second away victory with a 1-0 win at Northampton.

Top scorer Nahki Wells hit the only goal of the game shortly after the restart with his 10th of the campaign. City should have won at a canter after completely dominating the contest from start to finish, while Cobblers offered little in response.

"That was a very solid performance but it needed to be to get a result here," said Parkinson. "We needed to show we can come to these sorts of clubs and get a result away from home if we're going to maintain our league form. And that's what we got.

"We were competitive when we needed to be but we had to concentrate for 90 minutes to get the win. The back four were solid, the midfield were great and the front two really worked hard.

"Even after Nahki scored he kept working hard and that showed his winning mentality. Nahki and James [Hanson] were very good and they were difficult to handle. They will both get goals for us."

The only negative for the Bantams boss was the booking of Wells for his celebrations after he scored which will rule him of Saturday's game with Burton. "He got a sloppy booking for kicking the ball away at Notts County and those cautions can be costly," Parkinson added.
