Barnsley boss Keith Hill was hugely relieved at David Perkins' late equaliser which salvaged a point with managerless Crystal Palace.
Perkins curled in a stunner on 86 minutes to secure a 1-1 draw against a team who looked set for an inspiring win under Lennie Lawrence and Curtis Fleming, who were in temporary charge after Dougie Freedman's exit.
"It took a marvellous piece of ability from David Perkins because I really couldn't see us breaking down the block in front of their own goal in the defensive third of the pitch," said Hill.
Tactical changes in the first half helped the turnaround with Hill replacing striker Chris Dagnall with Matt Done to bolster the midfield, while Kelvin Etuhu was introduced for Tomasz Cywka.
"If I hadn't have made the changes I think we would have been beaten three or four-nil," added Hill.
"I'm not too sure whether I got it right with the starting XI but you try to put your trust in the players.
"I wouldn't say they let us down but I want points so I made those changes so that we didn't lose the game."
