Hearts defender Darren Barr says the financial issues blighting the club can help to forge team spirit.

Boss John McGlynn and players received wages late for a second successive month on Monday with the SPL reprimanding the Edinburgh club, warning them over their future conduct.

Victory over Motherwell at the weekend was a huge boost and Barr said: "We can only think about ourselves and what we do on the park.

"Everything else takes care of itself so hopefully we can carry on talking about the performances.

"The wages are one of these situations I'd rather not speak about but hopefully it's only going to bring us closer. We just want to get three points and do well for the manager.

"Our focus is just on games and winning for Hearts. That's all we can do. The performance on Sunday showed we can get back with the best because Motherwell are a top side as well.

"We've been playing well recently but we've just not been getting results. It was a dogged performance and it was good to get that win."
