Joe Chapman: top scored for Newcastle Eagles with 19 points
Newcastle Eagles maintained their perfect record this season although they were pushed hard in an 89-83 victory over London Lions.
The BBL table-toppers trailed 63-59 heading into the final quarter but produced a strong finish to hold off the Lions and secure their seventh straight win.
Joe Chapman top scored for the Eagles with 19, although it was Orlan Jackman of the Lions who led all scorers with 28.
Plymouth Raiders moved joint third alongside Leicester Riders with a 100-84 defeat of Cheshire Jets.
Raiders guard Michael Ojo top scored with 27 points as his side kept up their perfect start to the season with their third win in three games.
Manchester Giants are equal fifth after a 102-51 hammering of Mersey Tigers.
David Aliu led all scorers with 19 in a match the hosts had to all intents won by the halfway stage, when they led 56-31.
Sheffield Sharks claimed their first win of the season as they inflicted a 74-58 loss on Durham Wildcats. Sharks' Micah Williams was top scorer with 21 points.
