Chris Kinane is planning to walk for charity at Fontwell
Former jockey and trainer Chris Kinane is planning to walk again for a charity fund-raiser at Fontwell later this month.
Sussex-based Kinane, who trained the fine chaser Strong Promise, suffered severely debilitating injuries when kicked in the head by a horse back in 2005.
The 55-year-old will attempt a full circuit of the parade ring at Fontwell on Hennings Wine Raceday, October 24 to raise money for facilities at Jack Berry House, the Injured Jockeys Fund's rehabilitation centre in Malton.
"I relish the challenge of the walk and look forward to kick-starting the fundraising for a hydrotherapy pool at Jack Berry House because my weekly sessions in the pool at Fontwell have had a very positive impact on my rehabilitation," said Kinane.
"Fontwell is my local track and I have lots of happy memories there."
