Hull KR's Louis Sheriff insists the chance to play in Australia was too good to refuse after signing for Brisbane's Redcliffe Dolphins.

The Dolphins, who finished top of the Queensland Cup standings, are Brisbane Broncos' feeder club and one of the biggest teams outside the NRL.

The 20-year-old played the final six games of the Super League campaign and is fully aware of the potential of being spotted Down Under after.

"The move has been on the cards for a while," he told the Hull Daily Mail. "It's the chance of a lifetime to go and play in Australia.

"If I don't do this now, who knows when a chance like this will come my way again? Australia is the best place to learn the game. It's a big challenge for me, but one I am looking forward to.

"The run of games I had at the end of the season was massively important for me. They helped me become more confident, especially playing against Wigan and Leeds.

"Craig (Sandercock) told me there were a couple of us vying for the full-back role next season, but I want to try my luck in Australia. Who knows? A scout for one of the NRL sides may notice me."
