Middlesbrough striker Scott McDonald will be included in Tony Mowbray's squad for their home game against Derby County on Wednesday.
The former Celtic marksman is yet to feature for Middlesbrough this season, with Mowbray seemingly keen to sell the Australian in a bid to cut wage costs at the club.
Mowbray said: "It only needed one chat and we put a few things to bed and we're all getting on with it like adults."
With injuries causing an unwelcome headache ahead of the clash with the Rams, Mowbray has been forced to change his side.
"The two of us spent an hour or so in my office and he will probably be in the squad for the Derby game.
"He's in a position to give himself a chance to play over the next few weeks."
McDonald has scored 27 goals in his 82 starts for Boro since joining in 2010 but faces some stiff competition to get back into the squad.
Meanwhile, Marvin Emnes and Julio Arca are the latest of a host of players set to miss the game through injury.
Mowbray spoke of Emnes and Arca: "He's (Emnes) got some bruising on his foot and striking the ball is too uncomfortable at the moment.
"Julio has a problem with his toe that flares up from time to time and he wants it sorting out."
