Chris Hughton disappointed with Norwich City's defensive display against Liverpool

Chris Hughton admitted his Norwich City side had contributed to their own downfall after losing 5-2 at home to Liverpool.
Luis Suarez opened the scoring inside the first couple of minutes at Carrow Road and then added a second just before the interval, before running out emphatic winners as the Uruguayan completed his hat-trick and Nuri Sahin and Steven Gerrard also struck.
Hughton was disappointed that Norwich had been unable to show the sort of defensive stability they have in recent games, following a result which left the Canaries second from bottom in the table.
"We have been a much tighter unit the last four games and we should have had more points than we have, but we don't," he told Sky Sports.
"To go from that to affording a very good and clinical Liverpool team the chances that we have, is for me the most disappointing thing."
Asked about the first Liverpool goal, Hughton added: "It was our downfall because we had chances to clear the ball and when you don't do that appropriately the last person you want the ball to fall to is somebody of the quality of Suarez.
"I thought we then got back into the game, and when you are at home you have to force the game, and then we conceded perhaps an even poorer goal.
"From that moment it becomes difficult because you have to open up even more, which we did, and I thought we came out very spirited in the second half."
