Ricky Hatton: Will reveal his comeback opponent on Friday

Sky Bet

Ricky Hatton is set to reveal the name of opponent for his comeback fight on November 24 this Friday.

The match-up, which has already sold 18,000 tickets at the MEN Arena, is rumoured to be against Australian Michael Katsidis.

If that is the case it would represent an ideal return for the 'Hitman', with Katsidis a light of his former self and considerably smaller than the two-weight world champion.

Katsidis would be jumping two weight classes to fight Hatton, and has lost four of his last fights including a defeat to WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns.

However, Katsidis's agent Matthew Tripp said there had been no contact with the Hatton camp.

"At this stage there have been no discussions," he said on Tuesday. "But it is something we would consider depending on the purse and depending on the weight."

That suggests Hatton has lined up a different opponent for his first fight in more than three years.

Earlier this month he revealed he would be returning at welterweight where he beat Luis Collazo to win the WBA strap in 2006.
