Hajras: Likely to stay in training
Connections of Hajras hope there is more improvement to come from the three-year-old following his tidy victory in a competitive handicap at Newbury on Saturday.
The Dubai Destination colt, trained by Mark Johnston, made it four wins from eight starts in his first season racing when showing a neat turn of foot to land a 16-runner contest by a length.
"It was a good performance. We were really pleased to see him do that," said Angus Gold, racing manager to owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.
"He's always had plenty of ability. He's had a few niggles, but he's a decent horse on his day and I thought he quickened there and won well.
"We probably won't abuse him this year. I think Sheikh Hamdan might keep him in training next year.
"I hope he might be up to being a Group horse next year with another year under his belt."
