Cagliari's Serie A match at home to Roma has been called off in unusual circumstances after the club resisted orders from local authorities to play the fixture behind closed doors.
The Italian league have confirmed that the Cagliari municipal government have ordered the game, due to be played on Sunday, to be postponed after a late-night meeting.
Cagliari recently moved to the Is Arenas, which is situated on the outskirts of the Sardinian capital.
Local authorities ruled earlier this week that the stadium was not ready to host Serie A matches, despite improvements.
But Cagliari put a statement on their official website inviting fans to attend the match anyway as they considered the stadium to be ready.
