Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew says there have been clear-the-air talks following comments made by Demba Ba's representative which suggested the striker was considering his future.

Ba started Monday's game against Everton on the substitutes' bench before coming on to score twice in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

The Senegal international's agent, Alex Gontran, later claimed that his client 'could not understand the management' and may have to think about other options if he continued to be left out of the starting XI.

Pardew insists there is no major problem and he is just happy to have Ba back firing on all cylinders after receiving an apology.

"We are intelligent about the way we do things here. I know words have been said by Demba's camp but we've had an apology for that," Pardew said in The Sun.

"He hadn't been playing well, but he came on at Everton and showed what a great player he is."
