Shiv Thakor has signed a new two-year contract with Leicestershire.

The 18-year-old averaged 61 in the six championship matches he played this summer and is also a useful seam bowler.

"We are developing an exciting, talented group of young players many of whom have come through our academy system," said Leicestershire chief executive Mike Siddall.

Matt Boyce, Rob Taylor, Michael Thornely and James Sykes have all also recently signing new deals in recent weeks.
