Emma-Jayne Wilson, who rode in the Shergar Cup earlier this year, recorded the 1000th victory of her career on Sunday.

The 31 year old failed to get her name on the scoresheet at the Ascot team event in August with a fourth placed finish aboard Lyric Street in the Stayers her best finishing position but is no stranger to success in North America.

Wilson won the riding title at Woodbine in 2005, becoming the first female to do so in its 50-year history, and only the third ever apprentice to do so and retained it in 2006.

The milestone victory came in the first contest on the Ricoh Woodbine Mile Card aboard D'wildcat Gold and the delighted jockey told www.woodbineentertainment.com: "It's something I've been chasing. For a couple weeks I had a bit of a lull, but it's good to get the milestone and now I'm counting to 1001. Let's go!"
