Raynor: Happy with defence
Rotherham assistant manager Paul Raynor was pleased with the reaction from the Millers' defence in the 1-0 win over Torquay.
The Millers bounced back from their 6-2 hammering by Port Vale last week to keep a clean sheet and pick up three points thanks to Alex Revell's 34th-minute strike.
Raynor, who admitted he had a touch of earache after banned manager Steve Evans watched the game via a video link and was in contact over the telephone, said: "We know we have got some quality players here and we have worked long and hard this week.
"We put a back four together that has had no football together and the way they performed was a delight. There is more to come too. They can all be fitter because three of the back four have had no football together this season.
"We are delighted with the clean sheet and on another day, I know the gaffer likes to talk about sixes and sevens, but we really could have won five, six or seven, and that is no disrespect to Torquay.
"Our goalkeeper didn't have a shot to save and some of our attacking was extremely good and on another day we would have got more goals, but we are saving them for another day. I am just delighted to get the three points and the sooner the gaffer is back, the better but if we can keep winning and accumulate some points while he is away we'll be delighted as a group."
