Sri Lanka's talismanic wicketkeeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara has been passed fit to play in the upcoming ICC World Twenty20. Sangakkara's presence in the squad was subject to fitness tests after he suffered a finger injury during the recent limited-overs series against India. Tuesday, however, saw the former captain and veteran left-handed batsman's presence, which also features the uncapped pair of spinner Akila Dananjaya and batsman Dilshan Munaweera, in the 15-man party confirmed. "Captain Mahela Jayawardene has confirmed that Kumar Sangakkara has recovered from a finger injury and is fit to play at the WT20," the International Cricket Council revealed on Twitter. The hosts of the 12-team tournament have been pooled with South Africa and Zimbabwe in Group C. Their campaign gets underway against Zimbabwe at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota on 18 September.
