Jamie Foster: Hull FC's on-loan winger would not face Saints in the play-offs
St Helens coach Mike Rush has ruled out the possibility of playing against Hull FC's on-loan winger Jamie Foster in the play-offs.
The 23-year-old is with the Black and Whites from the Saints after slipping out of the first-team picture at Langtree Stadium.
"Long term he is still our player and we have to do the right thing by him."
Mike Rush on Foster Quotes of the week
Hull now retain the winger on a week-by-week basis with St Helens retaining of option of recalling at 24 hours' notice.
Should the teams meet en route to the Grand Final at Old Trafford, Rush insists St Helens would not have to face their player.
"We would be daft to give a player up until the end of the season when we are in the play-offs," Rush told the St Helens Star.
"I don't think we would (let him play against us). I don't think Hull would want that either because it would not be fair on the kid. Long term he is still our player and we have to do the right thing by him.
"This loan agreement was done not just to benefit Hull, who needed a winger, and Jamie, it is also for our benefit. If we need a winger through injury in the play-offs, it helps us that Jamie has been playing at Super League level - not the under 20s."
