Steve Clarke hailed his West Brom players as they continued their unbeaten start to the new season with victory over Everton.
After a goalless first half the Baggies sealed victory thanks to efforts from Shane Long and Gareth McAuley.
And Clarke was quick to point to his squad for getting his reign at the Hawthorns off to such a good start.
"It is a good start and credit to the players, they have applied themselves really well, it is a good start and we are really pleased," Clarke told Sky Sports.
"The longer the game went on the better we got, we grew into the game. Everton are a really difficult side and they have started the season well and we knew it would be a tough game, but in the first half they had slightly more of the ball but we still had the best chances.
"I think in the second half we got a little bit more aggressive and we got towards their goal and started to create chances which brought the goals.
"All the credit goes to the players, they have the difficult part - I am just there to help."
The Baggies' start has been in stark contrast to last season when they began with three defeats in the league - but Clarke says they have had some luck.
"We have had the bounce of the ball at the right time, at times you need the little rub of the green and if we just keep working we will continue to pick up points," he said.
"I don't think we can look too far ahead and now we lose the players for the internationals and now is time to take stock and see what we can do from here.
"It is part of the calendar and you have to put up with it. UI have asked all the players to go away and enjoy playing for their countries which is a great honour."
