Experienced duo omitted from 16-man squad to face Australia
Pakistan have left out Younus Khan and Umar Gul from their 16-man squad for the upcoming one-day series against Australia.
Both players have paid the price for some disappointing ODI performances on the recent tour of Sri Lanka.
Pace bowler Gul, who took just four wickets against Sri Lanka in four ODIs, has been replaced in the squad by fast bowler Anwar Ali.
While Younus and Gul will miss the three-match ODI series - which gets under way on August 28 in UAE - wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has been recalled to the squad.
Squad:
Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Nasir Jamshaid, Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Aizaz Cheema, Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Rehman, Junaid Khan, Anwar Ali.
