David Wainwright: 6-33 on debut
Derbyshire spinner David Wainwright has signed a new four-year contract.
The left-armer moved from Yorkshire before this season and has enjoyed a productive campaign with bat and ball - including a debut haul of 6-33 to set up victory over Northamptonshire.
That was the first of three five-wicket hauls in County Championship Division Two, while the 27-year-old has also bowled some economical spells in one-day cricket and picked up some useful Twenty20 wickets.
Head coach Karl Krikken said: "David's performances have been magnificent this season. He's been a key element in our success so far and a highly popular member of the playing staff with his team-mates and supporters alike.
"A spinner who can take wickets or bowl containing spells is so important to any team and David has proved himself well capable of carrying out both roles to perfection, as well as chipping in with handy runs in the middle-order. He's an exceptional all-round cricketer in the prime of his career."
