Versatile Austrian all set to continue career in Germany
Paul Scharner is poised to sign for Bundesliga outfit Hamburg as a free agent, with a successful medical all that is required to complete a deal.
The versatile Austrian underwent physical examinations on Tuesday ahead of completing a move to Germany.
The 32-year-old has spent the last six years in England with Wigan and West Brom.
He allowed his contract with the Baggies to expire at the end of last season, freeing him to make a decision on his future.

Hamburg appear to have won the race for his signature and are delighted to have convinced a player of considerable experience that they are the team for him.
"Paul Scharner is just the type of player we are looking for," manager Thorsten Fink told
Kicker-Sportmagazin.
"He is experienced, but still at a good age. He is a senior international as well.
"He is definitely not here just to top up the size of our squad, he is able to play an important role for us inside our first team."
