Australia centre Pat McCabe will be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a stress fracture to his lower leg.

The injury was confirmed by scans in Sydney and will see McCabe miss at least the first month of the inaugural Rugby Championship.

The Australian Rugby Union says there are no plans to replace McCabe in the training squad.

The Wallabies open the Rugby Championship with back-to-back games against New Zealand, with the first game taking place in Sydney on August 18th.
