Nedum Onuoha: Hoping for less of a struggle for QPR next season
Nedum Onuoha is already excited about QPR's prospects for the new season after a busy summer in the transfer market.
Rangers stayed in the Premier League on a dramatic last day of the 2011/12 season, despite surrendering a shock lead to Onuoha's old club Manchester City in the dying seconds.
Sergio Aguero's dramatic winner handed City the title, and results elsewhere meant that QPR were safe but since then manager Mark Hughes has moved to strengthen his squad.
Ryan Nelsen, Andrew Johnson, Robert Green and Samba Diakite have all joined in permanent deals, while Fabio da Silva is on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
"They all appear to be excellent signings," Onuoha told the club's official website.
"You've got to trust the manager to pick the right players for the club - he's done that in the past.
"He's helped all the teams that he's been at become better sides. The players coming in will help the club to progress."
Onuoha, 25, linked up with his former City boss when he signed for Rangers in the January transfer window, and after helping out in the fight against relegation he is hoping that a more positive campaign is in the offing.
"All being well, this should be a better year for us," he added. "I'm very excited for the new season.
"Last season, there was so much tension in the final months.
"But now there's hope and optimism and who knows what can happen?"
