Matty Smith: Salford playmaker is wanted by Wigan Warriors
Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has confirmed the Stobart Super League leaders are interested in signing Salford City Reds' Matty Smith.
The Warriors have a half-back position to fill next season with Thomas Leuluai re-joining the New Zealand Warriors on a three-year contract.
Smith, 24, is out of contract at the end of the season and Wane has revealed talks are taking place, although no offer has been made to the former St Helens man.
"There's been no offer made, but we're very interested in him."

"We're speaking to Matty," confirmed Wane. "There's been no offer made, but we're very interested in him."
Wigan playmaker Brett Finch's future remains a source of constant speculation and Wane insists the talented Australian is mulling over his options.
"We're still talking to Brett so there's no change there," he continued. "We've made an offer to him and he's deciding what to do.
"I know I need to work on things and make sure we've got things in place for next year, but I'm happy with the way things are ticking along."
