Rhinos skipper seeks an upturn in Super League form

Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has called for more consistency from his colleagues in the wake of their poor Stobart Super League season. The champions kicked off the campaign in style by following up their World Cup Challenge win over Manly with home wins over the Warrington Wolves and Catalan Dragons. However, Brian McDermott's men are well adrift of the title race with Monday's 31-18 defeat to St Helens at Headingley Carnegie leaving the team eight points behind leaders Wigan Warriors. Leeds finished fifth last season and defied the odds by winning the Grand Final at Old Trafford, however, Sinfield believes it will be difficult to repeat that feat this time around.

Consistency

"It is very difficult to do what we did last year and it would be even more difficult to do it twice in two years," he was quoted in the Daily Star. "It is nice to know that come the business end you have got something like that in your locker. "But it is not good for your nerves to do it that way. We've been on another roller-coaster this year and it's time we started finding some consistency. "It's not as if we're about to jump straight into the play-offs, so we've still got plenty of time, but we're not happy with where we are. "Eighth is not good enough for us and our form needs to improve. Hopefully we can improve to give ourselves a better chance of winning the competition again."
