Paul Casey is hoping to be fit for the PGA Championship at Wentworth after intensive treatment on his shoulder.

The 2009 winner had to pull out of the Players Championship in Florida because of pain in the shoulder he dislocated snowboarding on Christmas Eve.

It led to his withdrawal from the Volvo World Match Play in Spain and cost him his place in the world's top 50, where he had been for the past six years.

Luke Donald will be defending the title he won last year when the event gets underway on Thursday.

The European Tour's flagship event features world top three Rory McIlroy, Donald and Lee Westwood.
