Indian batsman had four months of chemotherapy

Yuvraj Singh has arrived back in India confident he has beaten cancer after undergoing treatment in the United States. The World Cup winner admitted he was "delighted" to return home after four months of chemotherapy at an Indianapolis hospital to treat a rare tumour on his lung. Doctors expect the 30-year-old to make a full recovery and, after a brief spell in London, he returned to New Delhi where he was greeted by hundreds of fans and media. Writing in The Times of India newspaper, Yuvraj said: "I am back and absolutely delighted to be here. Being away from home for the past few months, I have gone through a tough time. "But all's well that ends well. That's behind me and I am really looking forward to spending some quality time at home which includes catching up with friends and having some home food. "I have missed India and all that comes with it." Yuvraj, who was player of the tournament when India won the World Cup on home last year, has not played international cricket since November. His mother, Shabnam Singh, who accompanied Yuvraj during his treatment, described her son's battle as "having won the World Cup again" while star India batsman Sachin Tendulkar also welcomed him back. Tendulkar wrote on his Twitter page: "Yuvi - Welcome back home my brother after winning a tough battle with cancer."
