Andy Roddick is through to the quarter-finals of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships after recording a 6-4 7-5 win over Denis Istomin.

The fourth seed, who lost to Istomin two weeks ago in San Jose, converted all three break points he created to seal victory in just under an hour-and-a-half.

Next up for Roddick is a last-eight encounter with South Africa's Kevin Anderson, who beat Xavier Malisse 6-3 3-6 6-3.

Fifth seed Philipp Kohlschreiber is also through to the quarter-finals after he beat Ivan Dodig 6-2 6-2.

Kohlschreiber will now face Dudi Sela after the unseeded Israeli saw off Jarkko Nieminen 6-4 6-4.
