India have recalled talismanic batsman Sachin Tendulkar to their squad for the upcoming triangular one-day series in Australia.

Tendulkar, who has not represented India in limited overs cricket since last year's victorious World Cup campaign, has been selected to take on Australia and Sri Lanka from February 5 to March 8.

The 'Little Master' has limited his availability for one-day international fixtures but his inclusion comes as a massive boost to India, who are currently facing a whitewash Test series defeat to Australia.

Tendulkar, who is on the brink of scoring 100 international centuries with 51 in Tests and 48 in one-dayers, is part of a 17-member squad that will also be used to name the teams for two Twenty20 fixtures next month.

Zaheer returns

India have included key pace bowler Zaheer Khan in their ODI squad for the first time since the World Cup, while swing bowler Praveen Kumar, who missed the ongoing Test series due to a rib injury, also returns for the one-dayers.

All-rounder Irfan Pathan, Vinay Kumar and Umesh Yadav are the other seam bowlers in the 17.

Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has once again been overlooked after failing to impress in recent domestic cricket, leaving Ravichandran Ashwin to lead the spin attack with left-handed all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and young leg-spinner Rahul Sharma providing alternative spin options.

The squad is without star all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who has been undergoing treatment for a non-malignant lung tumor.

India ODI squad: Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Manoj Tiwary, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Parthiv Patel, Irfan Pathan, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Rahul Sharma, Zaheer Khan.
