Sussex captain Michael Yardy has signed a two-year contract extension with the county.
The 31-year-old England all-rounder will remain at the PROBIZ County Ground until the end of the 2014 season.
Yardy missed parts of last season after flying home from England's World Cup campaign on the sub-continent due to depression and revealed he was determined to repay the club for their support following his return.
"Sussex have shown a lot of understanding and patience with me over the last year and I am very focused and determined to produce my best cricket over the next few years," he said.
"I'm proud to be captain and lead a talented and committed squad who are hungry for success."
Yardy took over as Sussex skipper in 2009 and led them to success in the Twenty20 and Pro40 League, before helping them win promotion back to the LV= County Championship First Division in 2010.
He has made 42 limited overs appearances for England and was part of the successful World Twenty20 campaign in the Caribbean last year.
"Michael is such an important player for us in all forms of the game and it's great news that he has further committed himself to us as we look to take the club forward into the future," Sussex's professional cricket manager Mark Robinson said.
