Opener Lendl Simmons has been called into the West Indies squad for the upcoming Test series with Bangladesh at the expense of injured Adrian Barath.

Barath retired hurt from the first match in the recently-concluded one-day international series against the Tigers with a hamstring injury and has not recovered in time for the Tests.

Simmons was in good form with the bat during the recent one-dayers, ending the series as the top run-scorer and recording a century in the opening contest in Dhaka.

"Simmons will take the place of Barath in the Test side. Barath will be staying with the team to have his treatment and rehabilitation done," Windies spokesman Phillip Spooner said.

The first Test begins in Chittagong on Friday while the second and final meeting takes place in Mirpur from November 2.

Revised Test squad: Darren Sammy (capt), Carlton Baugh, Devendra Bishoo, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Fidel Edwards, Kirk Edwards, Keiran Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Marlon Samuels, Shane Shillingford, Lendl Simmons.
