Scott Moore: Has left St Helens to join Widnes
Super League new boys Widnes have signed St Helens hooker Scott Moore on a three-year deal.
The 23-year-old, who made his 73rd appearance for his home-town club in Saturday's 32-16 Grand Final defeat by Leeds, becomes the Vikings' 13th recruit for 2012.
Moore made his debut for Saints at the age of just 16 in 2004 but found his first-team opportunities limited by the presence of Keiron Cunningham and James Roby and spent two years on loan at Castleford and Huddersfield before returning for the start of the 2010 season.
"In my opinion, he is definitely one of the best hookers in Super League and for somebody so young, he has a tremendous amount of first-team experience under his belt."
Denis Betts Quotes of the week
Moore, who made his England debut during his loan spell at Huddersfield in 2009, was named in the England Knights squad for Saturday's game against France on Monday.
Vikings coach Denis Betts said: "In my opinion, he is definitely one of the best hookers in Super League and for somebody so young, he has a tremendous amount of first-team experience under his belt.
"Scott has regularly played at the highest level and competed in the play-offs, a Grand Final, a Challenge Cup final and on the international stage.
"Having sampled experiences such as these, he'll be hungry for more of the same and his appetite to succeed will be infectious to all of those around him.
"To recruit a player of his pedigree is another massive step forward for the club and I'm certain he'll be the backbone of the team for many a year."
