Agulla: Eyeing huge World Cup upset against New Zealand

Argentina wing Horacio Agulla has called for the Pumas to play with "heart and lots of passion" if they have any chance of shocking hosts New Zealand in Sunday's Rugby World Cup quarter-final.

The All Blacks are overwhelming favourites to progress to the semi-finals from the last-eight clash at Eden Park this weekend and Agulla knows no-one expects the Pumas to provide a shock.

He said: "It's a big challenge for us playing against the best team in the world.

"It's going to be a massive game and a dream to play in New Zealand at the World Cup against New Zealand.

"You cannot give them 10 minutes, otherwise they can score five tries over you. We have to be smart and play with our heart and lots of passion.

"We have to be 100 per cent focused. We have to trust in ourselves and each other."

Talent

Belief the All Blacks can end a 24-year wait for World Cup glory has wavered since the tournament-ending groin injury suffered by inspirational fly-half Dan Carter.

But Agulla knows the strength of the hosts' squad will now come to the fore.

He added: "Dan (Carter) is the best fly-half in the world, but New Zealand is always going to find players with plenty of talent."

Gonzalo Camacho believes the All Blacks' game is based on their pack, but Argentina are revered up front too.

He said: "They have great forwards - flanker Jerome Kaino is very strong - and we have to try and control them."

Camacho hopes Argentina can keep their fearsome hosts in their sights for the duration of the match.

He added: "We have to respect our system and play our best in attack and be in control of our defence.

"Being patient is the trick. We have to play the 80 minutes and see what happens."
