Jade Dernbach thinks England's two-match Twenty20 series against West Indies is important preparation for next year's World T20 title defence.
Both games take place at the Oval, on September 23 and 25 respectively, as England attempt to end a successful summer on a high.
England are reigning world champions in the shortest format of the international game and will defend that crown in Sri Lanka in September and October of 2012.
"It is an important tournament for us," Surrey seamer Dernbach told Sky Sports News HD.
"We need to go and keep our crown so any games we can have in preparation for that is obviously perfect for that.
"Every game at this level is vital. That is something (T20 captain) Stuart Broad has spoken quite a lot about.
"There are only five or six games before we actually head to that tournament, so every game is very important to us. All the preparation, all the processes we put in and strategies are all going to be good in games like this when we can put them into practice."
"It has been a great summer so far, but it is very important that we end on a high note with these two games."
Jade Dernbach Quotes of the week
England are on a roll after ascending to the top of the Test rankings with a 4-0 whitewash of India, which they followed up with a 3-0 triumph in the ODIs.
"It's amazing," said Dernbach, who has recently emerged as England's favoured option to bowl during the powerplay and final overs.
"The boys are in a winning way and we have found ways of winning cricket matches from any position we are put in and that is obviously fantastic, we can take confidence from that.
"We have taken a lot of momentum from a great summer and it is important we finish on a high note with these last two Twenty20s.
"It is always great when you are involved in a successful team. And that is what we are at the moment - No.1 Test nation and we are making some good strides into becoming a very, very forceful one-day side as well.
"So it has been a great summer so far, but it is very important that we end on a high note with these two games."
