Charnley: Will have scan on Wembley injury
Wigan pair Josh Charnley and Lee Mossop will undergo scans this week after playing through the pain barrier at Wembley.
Winger Charnley sustained a compound fracture in his finger in the opening moments of Saturday's 28-18 Challenge Cup final win over Leeds, while prop forward Mossop suffered a dislocated shoulder shortly after entering the action as a substitute.
Charnley stayed on throughout and scored the game's opening try while Mossop went back on in the second half after having his shoulder put back into its socket by medical staff.
Charnley said: "I snapped it at the joint in the first 30 seconds. It was sore but I toughed it out and it paid off. I'm going to see a specialist in the week."
Mossop missed last year's Grand Final triumph over St Helens with a dislocated shoulder but is hoping for better news from the doctors this week.
"Fingers crossed it's not going to be as bad as last time. It went back in easy enough so hopefully, with a bit of rehab, I can get through to the end of the season," he said.
"I'm hoping I can play on Sunday. If I can get a good week of rehab and the shoulder settles down, I can't see why not."
