Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik is available for selection for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe after being cleared by the Pakistan Cricket Board's integrity committee.

Malik, 29, has not featured since last year's tour of England and had been the subject of a PCB investigation into money he held in an overseas bank account.

But the integrity committee, chaired by PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, has now cleared Malik after he provided documents to justify the amount in his account.

"The committee after detailed deliberations has unanimously reached the conclusion that Malik has established that the said deposits in his overseas account did not emanate from any questionable source," read a statement from the committee.

"Hence Malik is hereby cleared by the committee."

Happy

Malik, who is married Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, is now free to resume his international career.

"I am very happy as the prayers of my mother, family and my wife have been answered," the 29-year-old was quoted by AFP.

He was named as a reserve player for the tour of Zimbabwe and it is not yet been announced if he will now travel with the squad when they depart on August 25.

Danish Kaneria also appeared before the integrity committee on August 15 but his case was deferred until a court decides his petition against the PCB's non-clearance.
