28-year-old rewarded with new contract at Derbyshire

Derbyshire paceman Tony Palladino has signed a new two-year contract. The 28-year-old, who has taken two five-wicket hauls this season on his way to 37 first-class wickets at an average of less than 25, will now remain with the club until 2013. Palladino, who joined Derbyshire from Essex prior to this season, is happy to have signed to extend his stay with his new team. "Coming to Derbyshire has been an excellent move for me and I'm very happy to have signed an extension," he said. "I believe the team is moving in the right direction and I hope to spend a long time here at Derbyshire." Coach Karl Krikken added: "Tony has led the way with the ball this season. His performances have been excellent and he is well on the way to a 50-wicket campaign."
