India batsman does not take the field on fourth morning at Lord's
Sachin Tendulkar is suffering with a viral infection and will not take the field in the morning session on day four of the first Test between England and India.
Tendulkar was dismissed for 34 on Saturday as he failed to add his 100th international hundred on a ground where he has struggled throughout his glittering career.
The 38-year-old still has hopes of another chance in the second innings, but is now struggling for fitness.
A statement from India team manager Anirudh Chaudhry read: "Sachin Tendulkar has a viral infection and is resting under medical advice and will take the field later in the day after further medical assessment."
India were missing a second man when they took the field, with Zaheer Khan also absent with a hamstring injury.
The leader of the tourists' attack pulled up during the first innings and, despite suggestions that he would be fit to return to the attack for England's second innings, he was again nowhere to be seen on Sunday morning.
