Wales No.9 agrees two-year deal

Bayonne have won the race to sign Mike Phillips after agreeing a two-year deal with the Wales scrum-half. The 28-year-old has been courted by a number of clubs since it was confirmed he would be leaving the Ospreys. France, though, has always looked his likely destination, with Phillips having now opted to join Bayonne. The ambitious Top 14 outfit have been looking for a world-class No.9, with an initial approach to former All Black Byron Kelleher having fallen through.
